Down by the lake they are singing folk songs in a minor key.
September 9
Lively getting in and out of buses at the city’s large bus station.
It is the turnstile for long-distance buses.
From east to west, from north to south.
Job-seekers, people who have been abandoned one way or another, people with weekend love-affairs, commuters and people returning home get out of buses that come from every lasr corner of Finland.
September 10 13
Empfangshalle puts together a chorus of people whom they have met on the street. They sing Finnish folk songs.
September 15
Little paper flags are distributed to the long-distance bus drivers.
„Cape of Good Hope -we sing your requests“ is written on them.
The news gets around.
September 18-20
The travellers request a song from the bus driver.
He calls the main office. The singers get ready.
Arrival in Kuopio.
A motley chorus stands in the arrivals area to greet the bus with with the requested song.
The city is full of messages. Especially where needs are to be awakened: To have something, to get something, or to experience something. These messages, with the necessary appeal, are brought to passers-by on so-called advertising mega-spaces.
